John P. Collins, Jr.

JP Collins is an associate of the Firm. He focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, investigations, and appeals. He has represented leading U.S. and multinational financial institutions and individual clients in federal and state trial and appellate courts in a variety of matters, including nationwide consumer and securities class actions, cross-border tax investigations, derivative suits, theft of trade secrets actions, contractual disputes, and other complex commercial cases.

Mr. Collins also devotes time to pro bono matters. He has successfully argued multiple appeals on behalf of state prosecutor and public defender offices, and represented a federal criminal defendant through the Criminal Justice Act program.

Mr. Collins is a graduate of Stonehill College and Fordham Law School. Before joining Kaplan Rice, he practiced at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and clerked for the Honorable Andrew J. Peck on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
